I began my journey in cybersecurity because of Kevin Mitnick. His books, the Art of Intrusion and the Art of Deception, were my first insights into this world. What started out as a teenage affair, continued well into my adulthood and is still going on strong.
I was one of the lucky few to start out my career in cybersecurity. I have over eleven years of cybersecurity experience across telecom, finance, consulting and publishing industries. Throughout these eleven years I have worked in a variety of roles. These include overseeing the implementation of security solutions such as DLP, MDM, implementing ISO 27001:2013 for a data center, conducting cybersecurity assessments and audits for clients across industries, performing penetration tests, working with a semi-government security organization to strengthen India's cybersecurity program, monitoring security of third parties for a Fortune 100 financial organization, improving process efficiency through security engineering and automation and many more.
In the backdrop, the pursuit of offensive cybersecurity tactics, techniques and procedures has been (is and will always be) my biggest motivation throughout my career. I prefer to be in the trenches, so to speak. My experience and my passion for cybersecurity have given me a unique blend of skills to be an all rounder and also thoroughly technical, when required. I love to speak and write about red teaming, exploit development and offensive security operations in general.
